Why do you write the type of book you are best known for?
I write poetry, and I have always written this way to express short thoughts and feelings. I know that in writing classes you have to separate yourself from that but that is where I get my start.
Where do you get your ideas?
I get my best ideas when I stop and sit and watch people interact. I especially find ideas in what we ignore when we walk past something in nature.
How and when do you write?
I free write when I feel stressed and need something to take my mind off of whatever I’m allowing to pester my life, then I go back a few days later and read what I have. So many times I just can’t help but laugh at how I let something so trivial monopolize my time.
What do you like most about being an author?
I like it best when someone likes what I have written or finds a blessing in my words.
What is your advice to beginning writers?
Don’t let criticism get you down, let those word be building blocks to help you communicate what you want others to hear.
What can your readers look forward to from you in the future?
The only thing I have written so far, or rewritten is a Scriptural Rosary for youth. It includes the Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful, and Glorious Mysteries along with scripture readings before each Hail Mary. It cannot be sold but we are printing it for personal use and I would be happy to send a copy to anyone who would like it in either Publisher format or PDF.
